Spore modding

Any fellow Spore (2008) players here? I've been getting into modding it lately, but I haven't made anything substantial yet. Mostly just toying with UI text while I figure out where everything is. I've been drafting an idea for a mod that expands on the archetypes significantly and makes their dialogue options more fleshed out for quite some time, and I should have the time this summer to possibly make it a real thing. If possible, I also want to add many new rares with my own invented world-building behind them, making the experience more story-driven than the ordinary game. Not a lot of mods out there for that kind of thing.

this sounds super dope- i havent gotten much into spore other than watching a bunch of spore creature creation vids and letsplays lol. your mod sounds really cool if i ever decide to pick up spore to play ill probably use your mod when u make it

Be sure to get it on Origin. Steam is unstable for modding, but I've gotten it to work before with a little elbow grease. I'd also personally recommend to play the game for some time before modding it so that you get the full experience, but that's just me. I will update this thread as I make progress on the mod - maybe I'll share some of my concepts later.

Oh I LOVED Spore when it came out! I had no idea you could mod it? O__o Just mess around in it with Cheat Engine and stuff

I picked it up again recently and made Frosty in it of course xP

ive never played zpore zo i dont know what thiz iz but it lookz really awezome lol. maybe ill try out the game
